“So Many Lost Weekends”
This was our first collection of “listenable” music from what we would call our “experimental” period. We had a lot more, but between system and equipment failures, swarms of bees, and jsut generally battling the forces of evil… not much made it into actual recordings. We’re going to try to put together and arrange things better as much and as often as possible. We hope you will enjoy this part of our journey. …With each new recording, each album gets better and better, we promise!

Cold World

What a cold world we live in
I don’t even know where to start.
I’ve been digging a hole today
Hope you’d help me with one small part
Could you gather all the politicians,
Generals, Presidents, Kings and Queens,
I’m digging a hole right now
So far it’s 10 miles deep.
What a sad world we live in
Sometimes it gets me down.
But I wont ever give up or give in
I’ll keep moving away the ground
Dig a little deeper, dig a little deeper
oh The world’s still cold the world’s still…
A little deeper a little deeper
oh The world still cold the worlds still cold
What a grand plan we’re living
Whats hell, hell to see?
When the money, money comes first
It will dig a hole for the
Got hypnotizing mesmerizing media
it’s not surprising some aren’t realizing
just what exactly they’re feeding us
What a cold cold world
What a cold, what a cold cold world
what a cold cold world
Now I never said murder or violence,
I speak only of the cold cold truth
When you play God with the people
The people will make a hole for you
Dig a little deeper, dig a little deeper
oh The world’s still cold the world’s still…
Dig A little deeper a little deeper
oh The world still cold the worlds still cold
Dig a little deeper, dig a little deeper
oh The world’s still cold the world’s still…
Dig A little deeper a little deeper
oh The world still cold the worlds still cold
Gone

I think I lost my mind today
Who cares what happened
Seems I forgot everything I hate
Who needs a reason…
…And I got in my car
and drove away
Gotta see how far I’d get today
Met some age-old trees on the way
And they would sway and dance for me
And the night birds sing to me and say
Who needs a reason anyway
Have I lost my mind
Have I lost my mind
Have I lost my mind
Have I lost my mind
Left behind all pursuits
Left behind all my disputes
Left behind the paved grey way
I left behind yesterday
As the road winds away
I’ll be back another day
but for now I’ve gone, I’ve gone away
Who needs a reason anyway
And I’m gone….
And I’m gone
And I’m gone
And I’m gone
I want to go somewhere where the cars can’t hear us
I want to go somewhere where the planes can’t see us
I want to go somewhere where the folks believe us
I want to go somewhere where this world can see us
And I’m gone
And I’m gone
And I’m gone
And I’m gone
Have I lost my mind
Have I lost my mind
Have I lost my mind
Have I lost my mind
And I’m gone
Daydreams

Guess what, you can’t find me
I’ve said goodbye to reality
and over here… over There…
I’m now over every where
Climbing high up in the sky
In the forest is where I lie
Taking flight around the sun
In the ocean is where I’m one
Guess what, you can’t find me
I’ve said goodbye to reality and
I’m gone, gone away
Ha Ha you can’t find me
I’m now departing reality and I’m
Doing back flips off the stars
Say hello to the life on Mars
Traveled the way, and I’ve Traveled away
In my mind I’d like to stay
So much more fun to play there
than live my life unaware
Guess what, you can’t find me
I’ve said to hell with reality
and I’m gone, gone away
Ha ha you can’t find me
Said the fuck with reality
I’ll be in this this place
I work this dreary office space
And my best time of the entire day
Is when I daydream and get away
Who’s that…. Oh no it’s the boss…
Damn you….
You awoke me…..

In a long time past
When we were made to last
We could spend a thousand years in a day
We had no worries then, Only time, time to spend
We were kings and queens back then
In a long time past
In a long time past
A long time past
When we would last
In a long time past
a long time past
When we would laugh
Cops and Robbers, “Monop-Money”
Water guns, you can’t catch me
Ray guns and aliens on the moon
Countdown from 25, ready or not you’ve had your tme…
Somewhere on a countryside
In a long time past
In a long time past
In a long time past
When we would last
In a long time past
In a long time past
When we would laugh
In a long time past
In a long time past
When we would last
In a long time past
In a long time past
When we would laugh
As my time runs out
As I turn to sand
I’ll still have that warm place in time
…A long time past

Standing in the long line for receiving this week’s portion
Television, Psycho-babble, jargon-seeking riddles.
Never going further up, Afraid of the notion,
Looking back on life… Find you’re stacked in the middle
Oh, you have the end in mind
you know you’ll always find
the other side…
the other side of reality.
The other side…
the other side of reality….
Staring up at the sky
letting energies fly
can’t try to hide
the other side
the other side of reality
the other side
the other side of reality
Stepping ‘round the corner, peering in to the secrets
untold generations, passing down the eternities
licking your lips. Reaching for someone’s cigarettes,
wading through the chaos… Unaware of the casualties.
Oh, you have the end in mind
you know you’ll always find
the other side
the other side of reality
the other side
the other side of reality
Take hold of the reigns
and withstand the pains
of passing through
The other side of reality
the other side
the other side of reality
the other side
the other side of reality

Our Innerworkings”
At one point, and for a while, the guys in US were called “Innerworkings”, and evolved the line up several times over almost a decade. They played hundreds of shows all over Northern California, won many band battles, and grew quite a following. We’ve since joined forces, and once again we are picking up where we left off and starting over completely in some cases. We are so grateful to have grown US into such a diverse and talented group of amazing people!
